The Office Area
This is where I conduct the less creative aspects of the business. Keeping the office space separate from the creative space helps me to transition between the two modes of thought more easily. My desk is nothing extravagant. It merely serves as a place to put my computer, which is, by far, the most important fixture in this space. When it comes to computers, the Mac is my weapon of choice, and it is on this Mac that I perform such daily duties as answering emails, updating the website and countless other business activities. To the left of the computer is another desk on which rests a printer and the fax machine. A file cabinet next to the desk holds all of my business records and paperwork. As you can see, the wall on this side of the studio is filled with artwork. This wall serves as a gallery space for the occasional vistor to view my work. In the middle of the studio, facing the gallery wall is a set of 15 flat storage files. Here is where I store all of my limited edition prints. I've lined the bottom of each of these drawers with acid free cardboard in order to keep the prints nice and safe!
Across from the flat files is a utility table which I use for various duties such as trimming prints and packing up artwork for mailing. |
