"This piece depicts 3 SE5a's of No. 1 Sq RAF, but it is actually a variation of a photo that I took at Masterton, NZ. I changed the color scheme from the original photo, enlarged the SE's a bit and added some atmospheric perspective. I didn't bother trying to compensate for correct linear perspective. I just wanted to paint some pretty SE's without having to jump through all of the usual hoops. I picture this one hanging together with Hun's Nightmare 1 so that the SE's face each other."
